Here are my parents experiencing rickshaw rides for the first time! They have quickly learned how to grab on tight when the rickshaw drivers veer around corners and dodge cars. We take rickshaws around the neighborhood quite a bit, to go shopping, to grab a cup of coffee, or to go to a nearby restaurant. The average cost for a rickshaw ride of about 5 or 6 blocks is about 10 taka (say around 14 cents). Of course the poor driver gets more money when we load him down with two people instead of one!
